Permeable paving is a type of surface material designed to allow water to pass through it, rather than running off like it does on traditional asphalt or concrete. It helps manage stormwater by filtering it back into the ground, reducing erosion, pooling, and strain on local drainage systems.
As an authorized installer of Stormflow Surfacing, a Canadian-made product from a Canadian company, we offer a premium permeable solution that allows up to 5,800 gallons of water to pass through each square foot every hour. This seamless “pour-in-place” system is mixed and applied on-site, making it faster to install than pavers and easier than concrete. It cures within 24 hours and comes in a wide range of colours and patterns to suit any space—perfect for driveways, patios, walkways, and more.

Why Choose Permeable Paving?
"Smart, Sustainable, and Built to Last.
Reduces Stormwater Runoff
Allows water to pass through the surface, reducing flooding and easing pressure on drainage systems.
Improves Water Quality
Filters out pollutants and debris before water reaches the ground, helping protect local waterways.
Minimizes Heat Build-Up
Stays cooler than traditional pavements by promoting evaporation and using lighter materials.
Long-Lasting Performance
With proper care, permeable surfaces can last 20–40 years—comparable to or better than conventional options.
Supports Eco-Friendly Landscaping
Encourages groundwater recharge and reduces erosion, promoting a healthier, more sustainable environment.
Lower Infrastructure Costs
Reduces the need for extensive stormwater systems, which can help offset higher initial installation costs.
Explore Financial Incentives for Permeable Paving in Your City
Many cities offer financial incentives—such as grants, rebates, or tax credits—to encourage the installation of permeable paving solutions that help manage stormwater and promote sustainable infrastructure. These programs can significantly reduce the upfront costs of installation, making eco-friendly upgrades more accessible for homeowners and businesses. For instance, the City of Hamilton's Rain Ready program provides rebates up to $5,000 for permeable pavement installations. In cities like Kitchener and Mississauga, homeowners may qualify for tax credits or utility fee reductions when implementing permeable driveway solutions.

The Rain Ready Rebate, funded by the City of Hamilton and administered by Green Venture, offers financial support to residents implementing Low Impact Development (LID) projects such as permeable surfaces, rain gardens, and rainwater harvesting systems. Applicants can receive rebates up to $1,500 or $5,000, depending on the project's scope and expected impact on stormwater management. Applications close June 1st, and to qualify, projects must be completed within the 2025 calendar year, with all forms submitted by September 30.
Before applying, applicants are required to attend at least one educational session hosted by Green Venture. If you missed the events, you can contact them for a link to view a session. The program encourages the use of native plants, natural mulch, grid systems, and permeable materials like interlocking pavers or porous asphalt. Eligible expenses also include landscaping fees, garden design, soil testing, and certain professional services.
For more details on the rebate, visit the Rain Ready Rebate webpage. For more details on the upcoming stormwater fee, visit the City of Hamilton Stormwater Fee page.
Conservation Halton offers financial assistance for permeable paving projects through its Rainwater Conservation Fund and Water Quality and Habitat Improvement Program. Homeowners and businesses in eligible areas of Halton can receive grants of up to $7,500 for implementing stormwater management solutions such as permeable pavement, rain gardens, bioswales, and infiltration trenches. These programs aim to reduce runoff, improve water quality, and enhance local ecosystems. To apply, property owners should arrange a free site visit with Conservation Halton staff to assess project eligibility and receive guidance on the application process. Funding availability and grant rates may vary annually.

The credit percentage is based on the volume of stormwater captured and managed.
Non-residential properties, including industrial, commercial, retail, institutional, and multi-residential buildings with more than five units, can also apply for credits up to 45% by implementing approved stormwater management practices that address water quantity, quality, and education components. Applications can be submitted online, by email, or by mail.
